RIGWATCH Drilling Instrumentation
RIGWATCH
is more than a drilling instrumentation package. RIGWATCH
puts the power of the latest computer, information and network technology
to work, delivering instantaneous information on critical well parameters
to the driller and other key personnel. RIGWATCH is built
around proven and robust sensors that monitor the well on a per
second basis. RIGWATCH takes rig monitoring to a new level
by combining instrumentation, data acquisition, display, reporting
and analysis into a comprehensive, easy to use, Windows-based system.
RIGWATCH's flexibility gives the driller vital per second
information. At the same time, onsite or offsite engineers or supervisors
are performing real-time detailed trend analysis via dial-in or
Internet access.

Key Benefits
- Electronic Drilling Recorder
The RIGWATCH Electronic Drilling Recorder mode serves as
a replacement for the mechanical drilling recorder. Hardcopy printouts
emulating the mechanical recorder are automatically printed each
day or on-demand. Driller entered comments and annotations appear
on the screen, printout and become part of the permanent well
history.
- 15" High-Bright Color Driller’s
Workstation
The biggest and brightest display in the industry. It is easy
to read, even in direct sunlight. The flat panel design permits
yoke, wall or console mounting. It has been approved for classified
locations.
- Touch Screen Interface
This interface has simple and easy to follow menus with large
buttons. Training a novice computer user takes very little effort.
- Real-time Graphics and Multiple
Views
Using high-resolution graphics, RIGWATCH presents real-time
and historical data in a variety of easy to read and interpret
views that are independently selectable by each workstation.
- Automated Daily Drilling
Report and Drilling Recorder Printout
Drilling Reports and Drilling Recorder Printouts are generated
at a preset interval; or on demand allowing quick review of drilling
data in hardcopy formats.
- Automatic Report, Printout, and Data Transmission
RIGWATCH automatically dials to a remote office and transmits
the daily drilling report, drilling recorder printouts and drilling
data. This provides key personnel timely drilling information.
- Internet Access
Daily drilling reports, drilling recorder printouts, and drilling
data for your well are accessible via a secure link to this site.
- Dial-In Access
This allows access to real-time data from a remote location. Supervision
of multiple drilling operations can be done from a single locale,
as well as conferences with wellsite supervisors on drilling problems.
- Messaging and Task Scheduler
Inter-workstation and inter-office messaging allows key wellsite
personnel to communicate. Task scheduler alerts specific personnel
of an upcoming task based on time or depth.
- 32-bit Windows™ Platform
Robust and reliable operating system - allows many applications
to be run concurrent with RIGWATCH. This includes morning
report programs, spreadsheets and word processing.
- Database Archive
This archive provides a "Flight Recorder" database of
all rig activities, drilling, tripping, and down time. Data is
stored on time and depth. Extraction and analysis of onsite and
remote post-well data is allowed.
- Data Export and Extraction
RIGWATCH exports real-time data via WITS to third parties
on the wellsite. Data can be exported in ASCII, LAS and EXCEL
compatible formats.
- Data Warehouse
Data from all wells drilled with RIGWATCH is archived in
a central data warehouse. This data is accessible at any time
by the customer via a secure Internet link.
- Real-time Engineering Applications
RIGWATCH integrates real-time drilling
data with hydraulics, drilling, tripping and well control applications.
- Pipe Tally
RIGWATCH automatically maintains a pipe tally that is integrated
with bit tracking.
- Accepts Data from Third
Party Sources
RIGWATCH imports industry standard WITS formatted data
in real-time from sources such as MWD – LWD service providers.
- Sensor Technology
State-of-the-art sensor technology is used at every measurement
location.
- Cables and Connectors: A
New Approach
Epoch uses a Multi-Port Interconnect System (MPIS) with epoxy
potted j-boxes, connectors, and cables. Quicker installation,
less onsite terminations required, more robust and durable interconnects
results in less corrosion, more reliable system and fewer service
calls
- Modular Design
This modular design allows customization of system for exactly
what level of service you need. This ranges from a pen recorder
replacement to mud monitoring or full rig-monitoring package.
- Intrinsically Safe (I.S.)
System
All sensors and wiring in hazardous areas are safe (i.e., not
capable of producing a spark that may result in an explosion or
fire).
